Find answers to common questions about MyProxyBox

Getting Started

What is MyProxyBox?

MyProxyBox is a hardware proxy solution that gives you your own dedicated residential IP address. It's a small device that connects to your home network and routes your traffic through your actual home connection, providing genuine residential IPs for better privacy and access.

How do I set up my first ProxyBox?

Setting up is simple: 1) Connect your ProxyBox to your router via ethernet, 2) Power it on and wait for the LED indicator, 3) Log into your dashboard and claim the device using the code shown, 4) Configure your proxy settings and you're ready to go!

What are the system requirements?

The ProxyBox device only needs: an available ethernet port on your router, a power outlet, and an internet connection. The dashboard works in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). No special software installation required.

Account & Billing

How do I upgrade my subscription?

Visit the Billing section in your dashboard to view available plans. Select your desired plan and complete the payment. Upgrades take effect immediately and you'll only be charged the prorated difference.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) through our secure Stripe payment processor. All transactions are encrypted and PCI compliant.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime from your account settings. Your service will continue until the end of your current billing period. The hardware device is yours to keep - you can reactivate anytime.

Technical Support

My ProxyBox is showing as offline, what should I do?

First, check the LED indicator on your device. If it's off, verify the power connection. If solid red, check your ethernet cable and router connection. Try power cycling the device by unplugging for 10 seconds. If issues persist, contact support with your device ID.

How do I run a speed test?

Click the speed test icon on any ProxyBox card in your dashboard. The test measures download speed, upload speed, and latency through your proxy connection. Results typically take 30-60 seconds and are saved for historical comparison.

How often is monitoring data updated?

Device status updates every 30 seconds. Connection metrics and bandwidth usage update in real-time. Historical analytics are aggregated hourly and stored for 90 days on standard plans, unlimited on Pro plans.

Security & Privacy

How secure is MyProxyBox?

All traffic is encrypted end-to-end using industry-standard TLS 1.3. Device firmware is cryptographically signed and verified on boot. We perform regular security audits and the hardware has no remote admin backdoors.

Do you log my proxy traffic?

No. We have a strict no-logging policy for your actual traffic content. We only collect minimal metadata needed for service operation: connection timestamps, bandwidth used for billing, and device health metrics. We never see or store what sites you visit.

Can I enable two-factor authentication?

Yes! We highly recommend enabling 2FA. Go to Account Settings > Security to set up two-factor authentication using any TOTP app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password. Recovery codes are provided during setup.
